How much does branding cost?

It's a good question, and the answer is not a simple one.

A logo can be designed quite quickly by a graphic designer. However, an effective brand identity backed by strategic market research gives a strong first impression to consumers and helps your brand designer strengthen your business when sat beside competitors.

Many businesses start their search looking for just a logo! Why? Because it's quick. Often, this leaves your team without the visual tools needed to make an impact. You want people to remember your company when they are ready to buy again—and that means having the best possible image online and off.

The costs of branding services are based on the understanding of your business needs.

If you approach a large design agency in Essex with lots of overheads, an office in the city and senior designers, you'll be looking to invest a significant amount. In our experience, as of September 2022 this will sit between £5,000-£15,000 depending on your requirements.

On the other side of the spectrum, you could approach a small startup or freelancer who has great ideas and a more intimate client experience. This is where we sit.

We value transparency for our clients, and aim to remove any uncertainty or guessing games when it comes to pricing. This is why we have recently launched an 'Investment Guide' which covers all pricing and packages for our standard branding, web and retainer clients. These prices do vary, as each proposal we create is unique to every business.

Ultimately, both large agencies and smaller choices will provide you with great results in different ways. It's all about considering your needs and if you align with the work created by the graphic designers.

You won't know exactly how much you should pay for your branding until you get to the bottom of what's needed and why.

Let's first understand what branding really means.

Branding for creative businesses is not just about your logo designer and brand name, it's about how you want to be perceived by consumers. The day-to-day activities of your business are also part of the brand—what you say, how you say it and what kind of impression you make on people when they interact with the brand.

The best way to tackle this? Bespoke packages tailored to your business. A colour palette, typography pairing, website creation, social GIFs and more are great examples of what is typically included in a bespoke package. A full suite of assets will help your business shine online, and allow it to be recognised in the physical world too.

When people see your brand across multiple channels, they will instantly recognise it as yours.

So now that we have a better idea about what branding is all about, we need to look at why it costs money and who should pay for it.

How quickly can a brand package be designed by a graphic designer?

The time it takes for design support in Essex depends on the complexity of your project, but our packages range from 3-6 weeks . It all comes down to the complexity of the package, your timelines as a business and our availability.

We now offer rush rates and design intensives for businesses looking for a quick turnaround, at a premium package cost.

An effective brand identity gives a strong first impression to consumers.

Branding is the process of creating a unique image for your product or service. It's not just about the logo; it's about how consumers perceive you as a company and what they feel when they interact with your brand. Branding and local design freelancers in Colchester can make or break a business because it determines whether people will buy from you, which products they'll buy, where they'll shop and what price point they'll pay.

An effective brand identity gives a strong first impression to consumers by communicating who you are as an organization, what makes you different from other companies in the same industry, how long ago your company was founded (if this is important), why someone should choose to do business with you over others in the same industry (including competitors), where people can find information about how well your company has been doing recently (such as financial results) and much more!

A strong brand is more than just a logo—it's how your customers perceive you as a company or organization after interacting with your website or product catalogs. This can include:

  • How effectively do you communicate with potential clients? Did they find what they were looking for easily? Did their questions get answered promptly? Did their interaction with customer service leave them feeling happy about doing business with you in the future?

  • How do people react when they visit your website? Do they feel like it represents your company well enough that they would want to purchase from there again (even if it means paying more)? Does it make them think "Wow! This place must be really high quality!"

It’s not just about being memorable, though—branding also helps businesses establish trust with potential customers. If someone sees your logo everywhere they go online (or in person), then they'll probably be more trusting of your services than those offered by another company whose presence isn't as visible across multiple platforms.

So, how much does branding cost?

For us, our base cost is £750. I hope that this article has given you a better understanding of what branding is, why it's so important for your business, and how much it costs. As with any business decision, you should weigh up all the factors before making a final decision on whether or not to invest in brand development.

We like to keep branding simple, so we've removed the guessing games involved with pricing. If you're curious, we've developed an 'Investment Guide' which covers our packages, pricing, deliverables and timelines. This includes logo development, website design, retainers and more.
